The work you see here is related to projects and client engagements I’ve either won as a piece of new business, led as project manager, provided the strategy for, or have overseen and mentored the project teams to deliver.

Cineworld

Ticket booking and commerce

Outline: With the amount of UK Cinemas going through acquisitions, mergers and rebrands it was imperative that Cineworld stamp a claim on a highly competitive and localised market.

A total of 75 cinemas all feed film and booking information to the site daily. The result is ticket sales that are in excess of 10,000 each day, which meant that getting the right structure and layout of the information was central to designing a clean, efficient and accessible application. By shaping the experience that cinema goers need online we defined an information framework and brand experience that ensure users’ journeys are task driven, business focused and most of all, simple.

Components: Video ‘film’ previews, task based ticket booking and voucher sales to increase revenue.

Technology: Bespoke Java CMS, Web Services, XPath Querying, Flash.

Gradu8 Virtual Recruitment Fair

Outline: Reaching out and talking directly to graduate job seekers; this site takes the concept of ‘young Internet savvy students’ and gives them a recruitment fair they can visit online. The site has video seminars for top recruiters like IBM and PWC, and invites the audience to attend Q&A sessions, where they can ‘chat live’ with company reps, get advice on their CVs, apply for jobs and compare employers. Recruiters can search a database of registered job hunters, view CVs and get targeted feedback from job seekers about the experience they had interacting with the company.

The event ran for 1 week in October splitting the week into 5 industry verticals headlined by some of the UK’s most respected employers. GradU8 was a huge success, with over 54,000 graduates attending the event over the course of the week. Totaljobs.com have announced the second GradU8 event scheduled to take place in March 2008, allowing businesses a second opportunity to showcase their offering and interact with graduates in an engaging and unique environment.
